"Sanctuary" Original Painting

Sanctuary is a celebration of the quiet abundance found in a native wildflower garden. A Monarch butterfly rests among vibrant milkweed blooms, surrounded by layers of lush greens, turquoise, pink, and fiery coral. The painting captures the delicate relationship between pollinators and the plants that sustain them, transforming a small patch of wild habitat into a world of its own.

Through expressive brushwork, layered color, loose mark-making, and energetic details, I wanted to capture the feeling of stepping into a place where nature is allowed to flourish freely. The Monarch becomes a symbol of resilience, transformation, and the importance of protecting the wild spaces that sustain us.

Sanctuary is an invitation to slow down, look closer, and find wonder in the native landscapes around us.
